Join the Friends of the Library for an exciting Book Club conversation with Dr. Nan Morrison. We’ll be discussing Edmund de Waal’s The Hare With Amber Eyes: A Hidden Inheritance. When world-famous ceramicist, Edmond de Waal, inherits a collection of 264 tiny Japanese wood and ivory carvings, called netsuke, he wants to know who touched and held them, and how the collection managed to survive. And so beings this extraordinarily moving memoir and detective story as de Waal discovers the story of the netsuke, his Jewish heritage, and his family, the Ephrussis, over five generations. Published in 2010, The Hare with Amber Eyes is a New York Times Best Seller, an Economist Book of the Year, and the Costa Book Award Winner for Biography.
